How Wired is the Campus?

College programs are increasingly being designed to integrate information technology into all aspects of student life. Mobile computing allows courses to be redesigned, to include elements that are computer-based and accessible to students at any time and any place.

Questions to ask prospective schools include the following:

	Is a notebook computer needed?
	If a notebook computer is purchased as part of the program how often is the hardware replaced?
	Will you be able to keep the computer after completion of the program?
	What computer training is a prerequisite/provided to students? Basics? Software?
	Are dorms/classrooms/student centers/library/public areas linked to the Internet and world wide web?
	What are the hours of operation for on-campus computer centers?
	How extensive are the hours of operation?
	Where are work stations located?
	Is there a separate access fee? Is it included as part of the tuition? Is this technology fee prorated according to part time/full-time study?
