Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology: Your Future is Waiting

FLUSHING, NY

Vaughn College of Aeronautics & Technology, a leader in education, was founded in 1932. It is a four-year, not-for-profit institution offering the very best in engineering, technology, management and aviation degrees. Vaughn also now has its first master’s degree program in airport management.

As a result of Vaughn’s established, long-standing reputation as an institution of higher learning, 93 percent of students who graduate from Vaughn College find employment within the first 6 months following their graduation. Students have the opportunity to do an internship and as a result, many find a fulfilling permanent position with companies who participate in the internship program.

Vaughn College opened its 200-bed residence hall in fall 2007.

Vaughn College is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology for its mechatronics engineering degree program. Mechatronics was named in The Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s publication as one of the top 10 emerging fields. Vaughn College is the only institution in the New York metropolitan area to offer this degree program that combines mechanical, electronic and computer-aided design engineering for the manufacturing of smart products.

A degree from Vaughn College can open many doors. Career opportunities are everywhere. The College has expanded to include engineering, management, engineering technology and computer-aided design. Students can enroll in mechatronics engineering, electronic engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, and general management, airline management, airport management, aviation maintenance management, aviation maintenance, aircraft operations, aeronautical engineering technology and air traffic control (non-degree program).

Students at Vaughn get experience both inside the classroom and outside. Much of what students run into in the workplace, has already been presented to them. A hands-on, personalized training ensures adequate preparation for careers. With a student body of 1100 students and an 11:1 student/faculty ratio, students are ensured personalized instruction.

In recent years, the opportunities that have been generated by technological advances have crossed all segments of American industry. There are job opportunities in electronic engineering firms, computer software companies, fiber optics communication corporations, local, state and federal government, defense and airport authorities, as well as major transportation companies.

The College’s distinguished alumni grace many varied fields from airport management and engineering to manufacturing and electronics. They have built successful careers in organizations such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), IBM and Xerox, Kodak, NBC, the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA), The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, United Technologies, Cessna Citation and Sikorsky. Their Vaughn College education has been crucial for their success.
