Drew issues a personal laptop computer to every student and continues to be recognized for innovative use of technology throughout the curriculum. |
Admissions Requirements: Drew's College of Liberal Arts seeks a diverse, energetic, and talented first-year class of approximately 450 students. Chosen from over 5,400 applicants, students come to Drew from 48 states, the District of Columbia, and 20 foreign countries. They bring with them a variety of talents and interests in artistic, athletic, cultural, political and service activities. What they have in common is a commitment to their academic development. The selection process is individualized; applications are evaluated on the basis of academic achievement and difficultly of curriculum based on high school transcript, standardized test scores or a graded research paper, recommendations from teachers and counselors, writing ability and the quality of extracurricular activity. Typically, more than one-quarter of students ranked in the top 5 percent of their high school class; about 40 percent in the top tenth; over three-fourths in the top quarter. Drew strongly recommends that students take 4 years of English, 3 years of Mathematics, 2 years of Lab Science, 2 years of a Foreign Language, 2 years of History and the Social Sciences, and at least 3 additional academic college preparatory courses. |
