You can always change your college major

Tuesday, June 21, 2011
You've decided to go to college; you just have no clue what you're going to study - and that's okay.

Some people enter college knowing exactly what they want to do with their lives, while others like to spend some time exploring different academic areas. There are also the students who pursue multiple majors throughout their college career.

Students who are unsure of what they want to do with the rest of their lives may want to enroll in their school's General Studies program. According to CollegeBoard.com, this major provides students with a broad-based education that can prepare them for careers across multiple fields.

The higher education research organization also states that students who major in this multidisciplinary option take courses in the arts, sciences and humanities.

If you choose a major in freshman year and find out later that the subject doesn't seem like a good fit, you can always switch to one you are more comfortable with.

However, it is important for you to remember that the more you change your major, the less likely you are to finish college in four years.ADNFCR-16000756-ID-800535428-ADNFCR
