What to ask when attending a college fair
| Friday, July 15, 2011 |
You’ve certainly heard the expression, "There are no stupid questions." As you begin your college search, these words are truer than ever. At a college fair, you can get the answers to many of your college-related questions all in one place.
Once you locate a college fair in your area (visit www.nacacnet.org for a list of fairs nationwide), you should create a list of questions for yourself and later to ask the representatives at the fair.
The National Association for College Admissions Counseling suggests that students think about the type of school they wish to attend. Do you want to stay close to home or go several hours away? Do you prefer a co-ed or single sex school? Will you be more comfortable in a rural or urban setting?
Once you have asked yourself these questions and many others, you will have a better sense of what you want to learn from the school representatives at the college fair.
You should go to the fair prepared to ask questions related to college campus life, course offerings and admission requirements, according to CollegeAnswer.com, a college planning Web site. School representatives also may be able to answer your questions about scholarships and financial aid, internships, and even the quality of the food in the campus dining hall. SchoolGuides.com – helping you find colleges and universities that offer the accredited programs that most interest you.
