Friday, July 22, 2011
Those who have an interest in earning a college degree and serving in the Navy can enroll in the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Program.

This opportunity is well-suited for individuals who have an interest in protecting U.S. interests at sea following the completion of their college studies.

The NROTC Scholarship Program will pay up to $180,000 in tuition. NROTC members enjoy the perks of college life, according to Navy.com., without the burden of having to work or incur debt to finance their college education. In addition to their regular studies, these individuals take a Naval Science course each semester and participate in drills on a weekly basis.

Once they are finished with school, NROTC students become ensigns in the Naval Reserve where they are required to serve for a minimum of five years..

According to NavyReserve.com, the responsibilities of a Navy Reservist include delivering critical support to this military branch's global operations and planning. These individuals' specific duties depend on their designation as either an enlisted sailor or a commissioned officer. No matter their title, all reservists are required to serve a minimum of one weekend a month and two weeks per year.ADNFCR-16000756-ID-800559177-ADNFCR
