Skills every college student needs

Wednesday, June 08, 2011
Going to college provides an opportunity to expand knowledge and improve the chances of landing a dream job. On a practical level, it offers young adults their first taste of independence, as many of them will be living away from home for the first time.

However, with all the freedom of college life comes an equal amount of responsibility. Before arriving on campus, it is important for students to take certain steps to ensure success in college.

Students who live on campus will have to learn how to get their class assignments done on time while also managing everyday tasks. For some students, college may be the first time they wash their own clothes or have a checking account.

College freshmen will benefit from creating a budget that will help them manage their time and their finances while they are away from home.

Upon graduating from college, students should see the benefits of their personal and academic accomplishments, as a college degree can lead to higher pay. In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics states that individuals who complete an undergraduate program stand to make approximately $400 more on a weekly basis than those who only have a high school diploma.ADNFCR-16000756-ID-800525673-ADNFCR - helping you find colleges and universities that offer the accredited programs that most interest you.
