Bring a checklist to the college fair

Monday, December 12, 2011
Perhaps one of the most useful tools in your search for colleges and universities is the college fair. However, as these events are a whirlwind of activity, it might be helpful to use a checklist to get the most out of the fair.

College fairs vary in size from small events in high school gymnasiums to large gatherings at convention centers. The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) hosts a number of National College Fairs throughout the country. According to NACAC, more than 650,000 students attend these events every year.

With so many students and parents attending the fair in search of college information, you may be a little overwhelmed when you arrive at one of these events. Having a college fair checklist handy can help you stay focused when visiting booths and meeting with school representatives., a college planning Web site, features a printable checklist that was created with help from NACAC. The checklist features a series of questions that relate to admissions, financial aid, housing, student life and other aspects of the college experience.

By referring to the checklist you can ensure that you do not forget to ask about application and financial aid deadlines, classroom size, the types of special interest groups available on campus or the quality of sports facilities.

You can also use the checklist as a reference and create your own list of questions to help you get the most out of your college fair visit.ADNFCR-16000756-ID-800661499-ADNFCR - helping you find colleges and universities that offer the accredited programs that most interest you.
